5.096 ha. In the global context, this is a tiny wine-growing region, but one which certainly packs a punch, as I found out in a tasting of Styrian wines recently. Mostly grown on steeply sloping vineyards with low yields being one of the keys for such high quality, the wines were exciting and vibrant. And the tasting was not just about Sauvignon Blanc.
